INOV-ART - 3rd EDITION

Following the period for submitting applications and the pre-selection procedure, the selection of candidates and awarding of scholarships, the internship period abroad is now being carried out. From the 150 beneficiaries, approximately 140 have initiated their internships, while the rest of the candidates should initiate it until 1st October next.
Therefore, having in mind that internships have a minimum length of three months and a maximum length of six months, all the internships shall be completed until the end of this year.
This edition includes 145 host entities (some of these providing more than one vacant post in different areas). The diversity of destination countries (23) and cities (58), involved in this international cooperation, which spreads throughout the 5 continents - Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania - is quite noteworthy
Comparatively speaking, the countries that host the greatest number of INOV-Art interns are Brazil (42), the United Sates of America (21) and, in Europe, Spain (18), Germany (11) and the United Kingdom (11), thus confirming a trend already identifiable in previous editions.
Particular focus on three new countries which, until this edition, sill hadn't hosted INOV-Art interns: Estonia (Tallinn City Museum), Norway (TYIN tegnestue Architects) and Turkey (Torke Istanbul).

The participation of entities already partners of DGArtes in former editions should also be noted, such as Sparwasser and Uferstudios (Germany); Associação Cultural Panorama, Cia. dos Atores, Escola Audiovisual Cinema Nosso, MMBB Arquitetos Ltda., Teia Produções Audiovisuais Ltda., UNA Arquitetos Ltda. (Brazil); Instituto Camões/Centro Cultural Português (Cabo Verde); Icograda (Canadá); ELEMENTAL (Chile); Biblioteca Nacional de Espanha; Printed Matter e Residency Unlimited (EUA); Sou Fujimoto Architects (Japan); Agência de Notícias de Portugal (Mozambique); Vastu Shilpa Consultants (India); Tom Fleming Creative Consultancy (UK), among others.
New host entities have joined the Program, namely MAXXI - MUSEO NAZIONALE DELLE ARTI DEL XXI SECOLO (Italy); Research Studios Berlin GmbH - Netzwerk für visuelle Kommunikation (Alemanha); Instituto Camões - Centro Cultural de Maputo (Mozambique); Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (Spain); Delft University of Technology, Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, group Design for Sustainability (Holland); theIdeaWorks (India); New York City Players, Inc. and Magnum Foundation (EUA); Gata Cine Produções, Quadradão e Gullane Filmes Ltda. (Brazil); Steven Holl Architects (China); Institute of Network Cultures/Create-it (Holland); The British Museum e Design Research Ltd T/a Tom Dixon (UK) and Bruce Mau Design Inc. (Canada).
The Program provides for a final assessment of the interns as well as a closing seminary to be held after the conclusion of these internships abroad, expectedly by the end of January 2012.
